This was actually my first and ever experience to ever see the sunrise, and we chose to go to Sanxiantai (三仙台), located in Taitung.

Most of the people would choose to take the train or public transportations to get to Taitung, but I must say, having own transportation is a better way to travel around in Taitung rather than relying on public transports. So we chose to drive our car, since we still have other places to visit.

The drive was about 5hrs (break not included), we left at around 9pm from Taipei and arrived before 3am.

Since it was Mr.J's first time driving in the mountains, plus it was a bit rainy, we couldn't risk driving fast...

We took turns driving since it was quite a long drive, unfortunately we had to countdown on the road. We did took a break at 11:55 pm to prepare for countdown, our original plan was to at least watch liveshow countdown and the fireworks on iphone, but...there wasn't ANY RECEPTION at all!!!!!!! So we just MISSED the countdown and it was 2016...took this photo and continued to hit the road...total bummer...

So that's how we went through 2015 to 2016...

Few hours later we finally arrived our destination- Sanxiantai.

There were plenty of people camping over there with their tents, all of them are waiting for the sunrise I guess.
 

Besides this, there were also plenty of small vendors selling all kinds of traditional food in the entrance.

While people were waiting, the organizer of the event also prepared lots of shows for us to enjoy.
But we were more of a gourmet, so we decided to eat more rather than admiring the performances. :P
 

Around 6am, people started gathering towards the bridge...the sun has already showed a little...too bad the cloud was totally blocking it...

The original estimated time of sunrise was around 6:33 am, we kind of wanted to give up and started to walk back to the parking lot...but then people started to shout that the sun finally showed up, and all of us could clearly see the sunrise (around 6:55am)!!

When I saw the sunrise, I couldn't help but almost burst to tears. 😂

Kept on shooting with my camera, hoping to catch the best view of the sunrise. (Please don't critisize me if i couldn't really get a nice shot, i just wanted to share...)

Besides the sunrise, the ocean was also another beautiful scenery.

And of course, a group photo and some selfie is a must!! But to protect them, let's just keep them disguised.

Anyways, hope everybody had a good 2015, no matter what happens, let by gones be gone and enter the new 2016. ;)

Sanxiantai (Terrace of the Three Immortals)

Sanxiantai is located in Chenggong town, Taitung County, southeast area of Taiwan.

This is one of Taitung's popular must visit places. The name came from the legend about three immortals: Lü Dongbin, Iron Crutch Li (AKA: Li Tieguai), and He Xiangu (AKA: He Qiong).

It was believed that they once took a rest here, and left three giant footprints which are the three rocks today that can be seen at Sanxiantai scenic area.

Well, we all know this is just a legend, so...just read this part as a story...

This place is mainly composed of volcanic rock and coral reef landscapes, occupying an area of 22 hectares.

Because of the seawater eroding the rock landscapes, it finally became the view that we see today.

In 1987, the government constructed the ten-km-long bridge to connect to Sanxiantai (three large coral reef rocks).

A lot of visitors come here to appreciate his precious treasue we have today.

(All the inforamtion above are all the knowledges that came from the internet and my brain, so please don't really dig on how wrong i am or what i missed introducing. I am very welcome to hear from any opinions)
